Duncan Laurence Wins Eurovision 2019 for the Netherlands!

The Dutch Singer Takes Top Honors with "Arcade"

Eurovision 2019 took place in Tel Aviv, Israel, on May 18, 2019, with 41 countries participating in the competition.

Duncan Laurence from the Netherlands has won the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest with his song "Arcade." With 492 points, the Netherlands scored 231 from the jury and 261 from the televote, giving them a comfortable lead over the other competitors.

Laurence's victory marks the first time the Netherlands has won Eurovision since 1975. The last Dutch artist to win the contest was Teach-In, who won with the song "Ding-a-dong." Duncan Laurence is a 25-year-old singer-songwriter from Zoetermeer. He has been described as a "soulful singer" with a "unique voice suitable for soul and pop music". Duncan has released several singles and an EP before competing in Eurovision. Laurence's victory is a significant moment for the Netherlands, as it marks the country's fifth Eurovision win. The Netherlands has now tied with the United Kingdom for the fourth-most Eurovision wins, behind Ireland (7), Sweden (6), and Luxembourg (5).
